vent / hood
2 July 2011
Dad came up last week , mostly to play with Willy, but also lend a hand with a project. The “vent-a-hood” was a challenge owing to the location of a stud in the wall, the asbestos exterior shingles, and my own obsessive need to fill every last gap around the vent pipe with expanding sprayfoam.
It is a nice piece of stainless steel, with a pretty strong setting for the greasy stuff. We watched the kettle boiling under it for a minute, to confirm the draft was good. Works like a flowbee !
Some bonuses included watching Willy converse with Andrew, and enjoying Mom's cinnamon cracks, or biscotti, or whatever they are. They sure don't fill a jar to the top ever!
