A 40” x 96” insulated panel forms a trap-door. And means the second floor can be semi-sealed from the gutted, un-insulated third floor.  It was bequeathed us by our neighbor Guy, and is a really heavy duty construction.  I wonder whose skilled hand crafted it, and whether they know it’s now buying time on what will probably be a long stretch of work, as the third floor room takes shape.  No more shivering in the corner of the kitchen on chilly days, I hope…
